Note: Just imagine this as being one of those really epic and emotional speeches (I expect some tears in the comments *d*).

The Defenders have voted, they have chosen, and they have spoken. Recently, we had a vote to decide the future of GD, but in the end, the results came down to a definitive… 

Package 1 – Revive GD

Up until now, I thought nobody cared about GD. I fully and truly expected Packages 2 or 3 to win, but then I realized, that even though we are a mere shadow of our former selves, WE ARE STILL THE GLOBAL DEFENDERS, AND WE WILL NOT GIVE UP! We  can, and we will, rise up again, to take the Top Ten. We can, and we will, rival armies like the Nachos and the Army of Club Penguin (for whom I have much respect). We can, and we will, come back, AND I NEED YOU, for the Global Defenders of Club Penguin. One of the comments that I found truly touching, was by Icey Cold27/McHappy:

“To me, GD has always been an inspiration. One of those few surviving small armies out there that doesn’t fear the word ‘death.’ Even though GD has gone against ACP many times (when I was in it, which always made me cring), I still love GD and hope the best for them always.

Please realize that just because you get small sizes doesn’t mean it’s the end of the world. Sure, only two people came. It’s better than none, right? At least you know you can only get better from there. (I don’t know what sizes you got before this so don’t correct me on that.)

The point I’m trying to get at is that GD is one of those small armies to deserve to be around for a long time. You see many armies go into the top ten and right when they drop out, bam!, their dead. You guys have been able to adapt to all the changes. This goes for an army like Sky Troops too. I don’t know any armies, besides Sky Troops, that can say they’ve done what you guys have.

We will do what it takes to rise up again. If it means events with 2 people (lol Redd and I), then that is what shall be done. WE SHALL NOT BACK DOWN, UNTIL GD IS AT IT’S PEAK. WE SHALL NOT FAIL, SO JOIN US AND FIGHT FOR THE SAKE OF FIGHTING. TOGETHER, WE WILL RETURN GD TO IT’S FORMER GLORY, AND MORE. Now that the speech is over (I expect tearful comments), it’s time to explain how we will revive GD.

GD will cease to follow the system of totalitarian dictatorship found in so many armies.

In fact, we will attempt to create an ABSOLUTE DEMOCRACY.

What does this mean?

• It means that we shall no longer have 1 leader who wields absolute power until he retires. Instead, we shall have an elected leader who wields absolute power. A President, of sorts, who will hold a term of 4 months, and then will seek reelection.
• There will be no term limit. With the idea that a good President can keep his position for as long as he wants.
• The Senate will, once again, be making an appearance. The Senate may impeach the President with 3/4 of the vote. The Senate will also pass laws, which must be signed by the President to take effect. The President may veto a law, but the veto can be overridden with 3/4 of the Senate’s vote.
• Anybody in GD can run for President. This means everybody from Private to 2ic.

Besides those specifications, GD will more or less be the same. We’ll still have events, we’ll still have fun, only our Leader will be elected. I will stay as the transitional Leader for 1 month or less, in order to get the democratic system up and running. Afterwards, I will be running for re-election.

There will be 1 President/Leader, who is elected. The President, before being elected, will choose a Vice-President who will run as a candidate with him, and will serve as the “1.5ic” afterwards. The Vice-President may speak with the President’s voice, meaning he can do everything the President can do, except the President can override any of his actions.
